Union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey misbehaved with a Sub District Magistrate in Buxar, Bihar after the official stopped his convoy for allegedly violating the model code of conduct on Saturday. Choubey is the sitting MP from Buxar and is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from the constituency again this year.

In a video, Choubey is seen having an argument with SDM K.K. Upadhyay, who stopped the minister's car for violating the model code of conduct. According to the official, the convoy comprised more vehicles than what had been claimed by the minister initially and was thus in violation with the Election Commission's orders.

Choubey, in the video, tells the SDM that the vehicle belongs to him and the official cannot seize it. He is seen asking who's orders is it to seize the vehicles that are part of his convoy.

Upadhyay is seen calmly explaining to the minister that the orders have been given by the EC and will have to be followed. Choubey continues to threaten and abuse the official and tells Upadhyay to take him to jail.

Upadhyay later spoke to the media and said that action will be taken as per law. He said that there was no permission for so many vehicles that were parked at Zila Maidan and case will be registered for all vehicles in the convoy.

“His language is his concern. The case will be registered for every vehicle that was in the convoy,” added Upadhyay.
