The Samajwadi Party has announced that it will extend financial support to the kin of the Unnao rape case lawyer who is in critical condition after the car he and the rape survivor were travelling in was hit by a truck.
According to a former spokesperson of SP, Juhie Singh, the party will extend financial aid of at least Rs 5 lakh to the family of the lawyer.
The authorities at King George's Medical University, where the victims have been admitted, are yet to confirm any change in the conditions of the survivor and the lawyer.
The Unnao rape survivor, along with two of her aunts and her lawyer, was travelling to Rae Bareli by car, which was hit by a speeding truck on Sunday. The rape survivor and her lawyer were admitted to the hospital in Lucknow, but her aunts died of injuries from the accident. They were on their way meet the survivor's uncle Mahesh Singh, who was convicted for assaulting the brother of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
The survivor had accused Sengar in 2018 of raping her, and following weeks of protest, the MLA was arrested in April last year.
