The truck was found to be linked to the Samajwadi party the next day. The victim of the case had written a letter to the Chief Justice of India The letter, signed by the girl, her mother and aunt, stated that on July 7 Naveen Singh, son of an accused in the case Shashi Singh, brother of another accused Kuldeep Singh and one Kunnu Mishra had visited their house and threatened them.
The CBI has registered a case of murder, attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy against jailed BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and 29 others, in relation to the rape case and the accident.
According to Justice Gogoi, “Unfortunately, the letter is yet to see the light of the day and yet the newspapers flashed it as if I have read the letter.”
"We will do something about this highly volatile situation," said Deepak Gupta and Aniruddha Bose, who are part of the bench headed by Justice Gogoi.
The teen's letter adds to growing evidence of delay in investigations into the case in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, Justice Gogoi. The letter will be taken up by the bench today. Gogoi had asked why it has been taking so long to place a letter that was written on July 12.
The family's request to transfer the case out of Uttar Pradesh is being met with delay at the Supreme Court.
