Ayodhya case: Mediation had failed during Mahabharata period too, says Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday, visited Ayodhya. He reached the banks of Saryu river and inspected the proposed site for construction of the world's tallest statue of Lord Shri Ram at Meerapur Doaba.

After the inspection, the chief minister reached Digambar Akhara where he paid homage to Ramchandra Das Paramhans and inaugurated the guest house built in Digambar Akhara.

While addressing the people, Adityanath said, "The whole life of Ramchandra Paramhans has been dedicated to the country and religion. He has given a new momentum to the society. Paramhans Ramchandra ji was the leader of the Ram Mandir movement and took part in it with dedication. Millions of kar sevaks dedicated their lives towards this movement in 1990."

Talking about Ayodhya case, he said, "We knew that nothing will happen through mediation. Mediation also failed during the Mahabharata period. Now the matter has to be heard daily from August 6 and we are confident that the Supreme Court will respect public sentiments. Ayodhya should get what it deserves."

He said, "The ancient city Ayodhya should get a new identity. The spiritual pride of Ayodhya has to be maintained."

"In the last two years, Uttar Pradesh government has changed a lot in Ayodhya. Before 2017, Ayodhya used to get electricity for three to four hours, but now the scenario has changed. Everyone across state has appreciated the deepotsav of Ayodhya", he said.

"A lot of work has been done on the beautification of Ayodhya and action plan has also been made for its tourism. This will also increase the employment rate,” he added.

The chief minister also visited Majha Jamthara of Guptar Ghat and inspected projects worth Rs. 133 crore. Talking to journalists from the project site, he said there is a lot of potential for the development of Ayodhya and its tourism. "I have talked to the saints and administrative officials here on how those possibilities can be taken forward", CM said.

CM said the programme for the establishment of the Ramayana Circuit in Swadesh Darshan was done by the Union government and its work is going on. A modern bus station is under construction in Ayodhya. Along with this, the government has prepared an action plan for the overall development with widening of roads and underground cabling of electric wires, he said.
