Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday stepped up his attack against the Narendra Modi government, alleging that the prime minister did not know anything about economic.
Addressing his second rally in Haryana at Mahendragarh, Rahul warned that the economic situation in the country would become even worse under Modi and “big corporates will run away like Mehul Choski and Nirav Modi did”.
"The world is mocking India. The country which used to show the way to the world, used to live with love, used to progress fast...Today one caste is fighting the other, one religion is fighting the other and the country's pride, its economy, Narendra Modi has destroyed it," Rahul said.
Raking up the farmers' issues and lack of jobs, the Congress leader alleged that unemployment was highest in the country in last 45 years.
“If you ask business men, either small or medium, everybody will say that demonetisation and GST has ruined them,'' he said.
Rahul said though Modi had assured that farmers loans would be written off, it has not happened yet. The government, however, has “written off loans of corporates to tune of Rs 5.5 lakh crore,” he said.
