At least one person was injured after a box exploded at the Hubli Railway Station in Karnataka on Monday.
The box was part of a consignment of several boxes that arrived in Hubli on the Amaravati Express and was bound for Vijayawada. One of the boxes had the name of Prakash Abhitkar, a Shiv Sena candidate, who is fighting the Maharashtra election from Radhanagari constituency in Kolhapur district.
After spotting the consignment and thinking it to be suspicious, the Railway Police made Hussain Saab, a man selling biryani to train travellers, to open it. The box exploded on the platform as Hussain was opening it; Hussain's hand was severed by the impact of the blast.
