Former Union finance minister P. Chidambaram was taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital on Monday evening after he complained of acute stomach ache. The senior Congress leader is currently in the custody of Enforcement Directorate in the INX Media case.
According to reports, Chidambaram was taken to the RML Hospital in the morning but has now been shifted to the AIIMS. He is being examined by a team of doctors in the old private ward.

During a court hearing last week, Chidambaram had sought two-day bail so that he could go to Hyderabad for treatment.
Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI on August 21 in the corruption case which was registered on May 15, 2017 alleging irregularities in a Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance granted to the INX Media group for receiving overseas funds of Rs 305 crore in 2007, during his tenure as finance minister. Currently, he is in the ED custody till October 30.
