Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev claimed that Lord Ram is a revered figure even for Muslims in India.

Speaking about the recent verdict in which the Supreme Court cleared the way for the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya and directed the Union government to allot a five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque, Ramdev, during an interaction with a media outlet, said he believes that 99 per cent of Muslims in India were converted.

He said just like Mecca is important for Muslims and Golden Temple Sikhs, Ayodhya has great significance for Hindus. Ramdev said every Hindu in the country wants a glorious temple for Ram in Ayodhya, and added that the temple should reflect India's cultural heritage.

Lord Ram is not just an idol, he is an inspiration, our origin and our ancestor, the Yoga guru said during the interaction.

Earlier, after the apex court delivered its verdict, Ramdev had said, "Even if there are some questions we will honour the verdict of the Supreme Court to uphold the unity and integrity of the country. This was the most important resolve taken in the meeting."

He also made an appeal to Muslims to make contributions for the construction of the temple and Hindus to contribute to the construction of the mosque. “We should take forward such experimental steps," he said.

He said that those who want to divide Hindus and Muslims will not succeed.
