Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party over the violence in the capital city. The AAP convener alleged that the opposition party was spreading violence in Delhi sensing defeat in the upcoming assembly polls.
“I want to appeal to the people of Delhi to maintain peace. The whole country knows who is capable of causing riots,” Kejriwal told reporters. He claimed that the AAP was headed for a huge victory in Delhi, which has scared the "opposition".
Earlier, the chief minister tweeted appealing to Delhiities to maintain peace.

"I appeal to all the citizens of Delhi to maintain peace. Violence of any kind cannot be tolerated in a civilised society. Nothing will be gained by violence. Put across your views peacefully," Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.
Delhi has been witnessing violent protests for the last two days over the amended Citizenship Act.
On Wednesday, police and paramilitary personnel carried out a flag march in northeast Delhi's Seelampur and Jafrabad area which witnessed large scale violence by protesters demanding scrapping of the new legislation a day earlier.
Police have arrested eight people in connection with the violence. Angry protesters had torched several motor bikes, pelted stones at police personnel and damaged buses and a police booth in Seelampur.
