Jharkhand polls: Congress alliance crosses half-way mark in trends, BJP leading in 28 seats

As the official figures emerge on all the 81 constituencies, the lead of Congress-JMM-RJD alliance has crossed the half-way mark of 41 in Jharkhand as counting progressed on Monday in the assembly elections. According to the official Election Commission figures, BJP alone is leading from 28 seats, while Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) [JVM (P)] on four seats, AJSU in three, BSP, NCP, CPI (ML) and an Independent from 1 each seat. Congress alliance has 42 leads to its credit. 

While JMM's Hemant Soren, the Congress alliance's chief minister candidate, is leading in Barhait, he is trailing in Dumka. In Barhait, Soren has extended his lead by more than 3,000 votes over BJP's Simon Malto. At the same time, in Dumka, BJP's Lois Marandi is leading Soren by over 8,000 votes. 

In Jamshedpur East, incumbent chief minister Raghubar Das has extended his lead over Independent candidate and BJP rebel Saryu Roy by about 1,500 votes. 

In Dhanwar, JVM's Babulal Marandi is clearly leading ahead of CPI (ML)'s Raj Kumar Yadav.
