Jain Coral Cove, third of the four illegal flats in Kochi's Maradu region, was razed down at 11:03am on Sunday. The apartment comprised 17 floors with 128 flats and is the largest of the four flats to be demolished.
The high rise was brought down in nine seconds within the 200-metre radius kept out of bound for people and all kinds of traffic.
This will be followed by another building, Golden Kayaloram, which will be demolished at 2pm. These are the last two of the four apartment complexes at Maradu that were ordered to be demolished by the Supreme Court last year for violation of Coastal Regulation Zone rules.
On Saturday, the first two of the four flats—Holy Faith H20 and Alfa Serene—were demolished in a controlled implosion.
