In a major announcement on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed Parliament that the government has decided to set up a trust for constructing Ram temple in Ayodhya. The trust, named Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, will take over the disputed 67.703 acres of land and has an inside and outside courtyard.
The trust has been set up as mandated by a Supreme Court verdict on November 9, 2019. "It (The trust) would be independent and would be able to make all decisions for a huge temple on the birthplace of Lord Ram... The government has taken another big decision keeping in mind the number of pilgrims expected to visit the to-be-made Ram Mandir," PM Modi said in Lok Sabha.

In addition, the prime minister also informed that the Uttar Pradesh government has given its approval for 5 acres to be alloted to Sunni Waqf Board, as ordered by the Supreme Court in its judgment. "We requested for the 5 acres of land for the Sunni Waqf Board to the UP Govt in Ayodhya. The UP Govt has given its approval," Modi said.
Modi also appreciated the multi-religious social fabric of the country in his address in the Lok Sabha. "After the judgment on November 9, all citizens of India had proven their belief in the democratic system of the country. I applaud the character shown by the people of India. All communities living in India are members of one big family," Modi said. "In India, be it Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain, everyone is a part of one family. Development must take place for every member of the family. Our government is moving forward with 'sabka sath sabka vikas' policy so that everyone is happy. Together, let us all work in the direction of building a grand Ram Mandir," Modi said in Parliament.
