Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on the twin peaks of happiness on Tuesday. On one hand, his Aam Admi Party has swept the assembly elections and retained power for the third time in a row in the capital state, while on the other, the day also marks the birthday of Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal.

The birthday celebration was delayed a little with the anxiety over the lead position of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who was locked in a tight contest with BJP's Ravinder Singh Negi in Patparganj seat. After trailing initially, Sisodia wrested the seat in final rounds of counting with a lead of just more than 3,000 votes.

Sunita says the poll outcome is the biggest ever birthday gift she has received.

“It's the biggest gift I've received. This is the victory of truth. I think politics should be done on basis of issues. Political parties should learn that such comments shouldn't be made,” she said.

Images shared by ANI on Twitter shows Kejriwal and Sunita greeting each other by offering cakes. Kejriwal's two children were also present at the party office.

Sunita had campaigned for her husband in the run up to the elections, going from door to door with other AAP workers.
