Kerala police's sense of humour is hard to miss. The social awareness videos that the department posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have an equal mix of warnings, advices and humour. The latest troll video released by the Kerala police on its social media pages is a warning for Keralites who plan to fan communal tensions via social media.

On Tuesday, as incidents of widespread violence were reported from Delhi, a video with communally insensitive expletives and threats went viral. In the video, a youth can be seen showering abuses on anti-CAA protesters in Delhi. "All roads to Delhi have been closed. Once (US President Donald) Trump departs, you (anti-CAA protesters) will be dealt in such a way that you will never raise your voice against India," he can be heard saying in the video.

Soon, a number of people raised complaints against the video. On Wednesday, the police sprang into action and arrested Sreejith Ravindran, the individual behind the video, for promoting communal disharmony.

Soon after the arrest, the police released a troll video on Ravindran to inform the public about the arrest. The video of the arrest, interspersed with scenes and dialogues from the Malayalam movie Action Hero Biju, has left social media users in splits. In the movie, Mollywood actor Nivin Pauly dons the role of a dutiful, straight forward police officer.

Meanwhile, Ravindran has been slapped with charges for inciting communal tensions and will be produced at a local court on Wednesday. Manorama News reported that Ravindran is an RSS activist in Palakkad.

In addition to the arrest and the video, the Kerala police have also issued a statement warning those trying to create communal tensions in light of the Delhi violence. The police reminded that those creating and forwarding communally insensitive content will be brought to law. All content on social media will be under observation, the police informed.
