Students of Delhi School of Social Work have demanded the arrest of BJP leader Kapil Mishra, an alumnus of the prestigious institution, for allegedly inciting violence in the national capital. In a statement, the Department of Social Work Students Union (DSWSU) said they were ashamed of the fact that Mishra had studied Social Work in their college.
“In one way, we have a glorious past and on the other hand we also have blot such as our Alumni BJP leader Kapil Mishra who has organised recent Delhi riots and incited mob to disturb communal harmony of the city,” the statement said, adding that “In the past 3-4 days, community fabric has been tarnished and many people have lost their life, thousands of people have lost their home and livelihood”.
The DSWSU said the image of their department and the profession of social work have been tarnished due to Mishra's provocative acts and communal statements. “We DSSW fraternity is against the hatred, violence and communalism spread by Kapil Mishra who has also maligned our profession,” it said.
Students of Delhi School of Soscial Work have called Kapil Mishra unfit to be its alumni and demanded his arrest.

At least 42 people died and over 250 people were injured as large-scale violence and communal clashes wracked northeast Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act. The clashes broke out on Sunday after Mishra issued an ultimatum to Delhi Police to clear the roads blocked by anti-CAA protesters near Jaffrabad metro station.
