On the eve of Holi festival, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Sunday exhorted people of the state to offer camphor and dry neem leaves in the Holi bonfire.
The appeal comes even as the state government updated that till date 2107 passengers, having a history of visiting China and other coronavirus-affected countries, have been kept under isolation. Of the 2107, 1154 have completed 28 days of isolation.
Rupani said that adding camphor, dry neem leaves, cow ghee, mustard and gugal to the bonfire will help purify the atmosphere.
Health Commissioner Jayanti Ravi said that so far not a single person has tested positive for the coronavirus in Gujarat.
All the 47 samples, tested so far at Ahmedabad’s B J Medical College, have been negative.
The Gujarat Government has requested the Centre to allow it to test samples at hospitals in Vadodara and Surat.
