Fujifilm India supplies N95 masks, imaging kits to hospitals fighting COVID-19

Fujifilm India, subsidiary of Tokyo-based Fujifilm Holdings Corporation, has extended its support to the battle against COVID-19 by providing N95 masks, Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) kits and imaging systems to hospitals fighting the virus in India. 

The company announced that 200 N95 respirator and surgical facemasks along with 40 PPE kits would be supplied to healthcare professionals at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh (PGIMER). The PPE kits include surgeon gowns, face masks, gloves, preventive eye wear, hood caps and shoe covers. 

Commenting on this, Haruto Iwata, Managing Director, Fujifilm India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We all are witnessing an unprecedented and difficult time of our lives due to COVID-19 global pandemic. Committed to work together with the people of India in this hour of difficulty, we have introduced these measures to ensure adequate protective equipment and masks are available for healthcare specialists and associated workforce present on the front lines. At Fujifilm, we believe it’s time for all of us to come together and protect the humanity by acting responsibly and by doing what we can to prevent further spread and avoid disruptions from the COVID-19 virus.”

The company has also installed computed radiology and digital radiology systems and imagers across isolation wards at hospitals to ensure effective monitoring and controlling the disease outbreaks. According to Chander Shekhar Sibal, spokesperson, Fujifilm India, “On a micro level, these technologies will empower clinicians to improve efficiency and expedite the early diagnosis of the disease,” he said.

Sibal said that Fujifilm service teams had been working hard to avoid disruptions from the COVID-19 virus while acting responsibly to do what they can to prevent further spread.

“We believe that technology and innovation will work towards national service and play a vital role in these times of distress,” he said.
