The Airports Authority of India on Thursday announced the standard operating procedure for domestic flights, which will resume on May 25.

The SOP states all departing passengers should have the Aarogya Setu app, meant to track coronavirus cases, installed on their phones. Their phones will be verified by the CISF and airport staff at the entry gate of airports. The Aarogya Setu app will not be required for passengers below 14 years of age. Entry will not be allowed to passengers whose Aarogya Setu app does not show 'green status'.

Passengers should also compulsorily undergo thermal screening before entering the airport terminal. The airports have been asked to arrange for equipment for this purpose.

Passengers are required to reach the airport two hours before scheduled departure of their flights. Entry will be allowed to only passengers who have departures scheduled in the next four hours. All passengers are required to wear protective equipment such as masks and gloves.

The Airports Authority said airport operators must make appropriate arrangement for sanitisation of passengers' baggage before entry into the terminal building.

The state governments have been asked to ensure adequate availability of taxis and public transport at the airports.

The flight services, which were suspended on March 25, will begin on a limited scale.
