Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha, who is a popular face on TV news debates, announced on Friday that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
I have tested positive for Covid_19 . As I am asymptomatic I am in home quarantine for the next 10-12 days. Please don’t underestimate transmission risks, we are all vulnerable.

Do take care all.
Jha, who was in Mumbai, tweeted, "I have tested positive for Covid_19. As I am asymptomatic I am in home quarantine for the next 10-12 days. Please don’t underestimate transmission risks, we are all vulnerable..."
Jha, who is a columnist, is also president of the All India Professionals Congress, the outreach unit of the party that interacts with working professionals. Jha has often engaged in jousts on Twitter with BJP supporters on various issues. But his tweet on being infected with COVID-19 saw political rivalries being kept aside. BJP leaders Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga and Jyotiraditya Scindia—who was in the Congress until March—tweeted wishes of good health to Jha.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi, who was with the Congress till last year, also wished Sanjay Jha well and even offered him assistance.
The announcement by Sanjay Jha came on a day that India recorded the highest-ever rise in COVID-19 cases in a single day till date. The health ministry announced that in the 24 hours ending at 8am on Friday, 6,088 new COVID-19 infections had been reported, taking India's total tally to 1,18,447 cases. A total of 148 deaths from COVID-19 were also reported in the same time frame, taking the total toll to 3,583.
