T. Veena, daughter of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, is all set to tie the nuptial knot with Muhammad Riyas, the national president of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), local media reported on Tuesday. According to manoramaonline, the low-key wedding ceremony will be held on June 15 in the presence of their close friends and relatives.
Riyas, a state committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), who started his political innings with the Students Federation of India (SFI), had served as the state president of the DYFI before being promoted to the national president post. He was the CPI(M) candidate from Kozhikode constituency in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, but lost to veteran Congress leader M.K. Raghavan.
The 44-year-old law graduate is the son of retired IPS officer P.M. Abdul Khadar. He has two sons in his first marriage with Dr Sameetha. The couple separated in 2015.
Veena is an IT entrepreneur based in Bengaluru and MD of Exalogic Solutions. She also has a son from her first marriage.
