People in various parts of India are protesting against China from their own balconies and on the streets following the face-off between Indian and Chinese troops at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh which resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers.
However, a video of BJP workers protesting in Asansol against the Chinese incursions has gone viral for a different reason. A group of protesters seems to have confused Kim Jong-Un for the Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping and are seen burning the effigy of the North Korean leader instead.
“We are protesting against China, and what happened in Ladakh. Therefore, we are going to burn the effigy of the ‘Chinese Prime Minister Kim Jong-Un’,” said the man who identified himself as the president of the Asansol South BJP division. “We also request people to boycott Chinese products and only use those that are ‘swadeshi’ (made in India). We’ll try our best to weaken China by not paying for their products.”

The stand-off in Galwan Valley between Indian and Chinese troops on the night of June 15 is the first time since 1967 that army personnel were killed at the LAC.
The clashes that resulted in the deaths of 20 soldiers has angered citizens and spurred the anti-China sentiments, with many calling to boycott Chinese products. In a similar incident, some residents of a society in Surat, Gujarat were seen throwing from a balcony a television made by a Chinese company and then stomping on it to show their anger following the clashes.
