Healthcare workers, who are at the forefront of the war against coronavirus, is facing an uphill battle even as the number of cases keep increasing. The long hours of duty and the suffocating personal protection equipment (PPE) and masks seem to be taking physical and emotional toll on many of them.
A photo of a doctor’s wrinkled hand, shared by IAS officer Awanish Sharan on Twitter, has gone viral, with many other healthcare professionals sharing similar images and users expressing their gratitude for the selfless service rendered by the healthcare workers.
"This is the hand of a doctor after removing his medical precautionary suit and gloves after 10 hours of duty. Salute to the frontline heroes," Sharan had written.
A doctor reacted the image and thanked him for the acknowledgment.
"That was mine wearing two gloves just for 2 hours," wrote a user, sharing a photo of his hand.
Many users appreciated the healthcare workers and saluted them for their dedication.
