Pakistan trying to send more militants to Kashmir to carry out attacks: J&K DGP

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said Pakistan is attempting launch attacks security forces in the union territory and added that the neighbouring country is sending more terrorists into Kashmir for the purpose.

"Pakistan is trying to send more Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba militants to Kashmir through Nowshera, Rajouri-Poonch and Kupwara-Keran sectors. Our border and hinterland grids are alert and are working in coordination," news agency ANI quoted Singh as saying.

He further said there are reports that the militants are planning to carry out attacks against the security forces and added that the forces are fully alert. “We have reports that militants (JeM) are again planning to implement IED based incident against the security forces. We are fully alert,” he said.

Earlier, Singh had said over 100 terrorists have been neutralised in the past five-and-a-half months. "During the last about five-and-a-half months, over 100 terrorists have been neutralised, out of them 50 plus were from the Hizbul Mujahideen, around 20 from the Lashkar-e-Taiba, 20 from the Jaish-e-Mohammed and the rest from smaller outfits like Al-Badr, Ansar Gazwatul Hind," PTI had quoted him as saying.

He had also claimed that the "last full year and about five-and-a-half months of this year have been the most peaceful months that we have had in terms of handling law and order in general and the law and order situations around the (anti-terrorism) operation sites in particular."
