Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav on Thursday asserted that he is the victim of a hate campaign launched by the supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He took to Twitter and said that he has received “hundreds of abusive, threatening phone calls” since online trolls shared his personal number on social media.
He further said that the “BJP troll army” has directed people to gather outside his home on Thursday evening. Yadav tweeted that he is informing the Delhi Police to avoid any conflict.
“BJP troll army has launched a hate campaign against me. First they released my personal number, leading to hundreds of abusive, threatening phone calls. Now they’ve called for crowds to gather outside my home this evening. I am informing @DelhiPolice,” he tweeted, adding that he was not going to be intimidated.

Yadav, who was part of the farmers’ protests, has been named in the FIR, along with Rakesh Tikait, Darshan Pal and Medha Patkar, on charges of rioting, criminal conspiracy and attempt to murder among others, PTI reported.
Yadav had said that he felt “ashamed” after the tractor rally turned violent and Delhi witnessed a chaotic Republic Day on Tuesday. He took responsibility for it.
“Violence impacts any kind of protest in a wrong way. I cannot say at the moment who did it and who did not, but prima facie it looks like it has been done by the people that we kept out of the farmers’ protest,” Yadav had said.
“I appealed continuously that we stick to whatever route was decided and not deviate. Only if the movement goes peacefully, we will be able to win,” said Yadav, who has been supporting the farmers’ agitation against the new agriculture laws.
The Delhi Police on Thursday also issued notices to 20 farmer leaders, including Yadav, Baldev Singh Sirsa and Balbir S. Rajewal for breaching the agreement regarding the tractor rally. The police has sought replies from farmers leaders in three days time for flouting the rules that were agreed upon.
Protesting farmers, meanwhile, have maintained that there is a conspiracy to malign their peaceful protest. They have decided to scrap their plans to march to the Parliament on February 1, Budget Day, following the turn of events on Republic Day.
