Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Mauritius and Mongolia recognised the vaccine certificate provided by India, according to the ministry of external affairs (MEA).

"Mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination certificates continues! Five more recognitions for India’s vaccination certificate, including from Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, State of Palestine, Mauritius and Mongolia," MEA said in a tweet.

On Friday, foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla had said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his intervention at the session on 'global economy and global health' at G-20 Summit, flagged the issue of facilitating international travel and talked about the mechanism of mutual recognition of vaccine certification as a means of achieving this.

Meanwhile, the Australian government recognised India's Covaxin. "Today, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) determined that Covaxin (manufactured by Bharat Biotech, India) and BBIBP-CorV (manufactured by Sinopharm, China) vaccines would be 'recognised' for the purpose of establishing a traveller's vaccination status,” Australia's medicines and medical devices regulator TGA said in a tweet.

This recognition is for travellers aged 12 and over who have been vaccinated with Covaxin, and those 18 to 60 who have been vaccinated with BBIBP-CorV.
