Security has been strengthened around industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence—Antilia—in Mumbai after a cab driver informed the police that two suspicious men had inquired about its location.
Police said the cab driver had revealed that the two men were travelling in a WagonR and they stopped near Azad Maidan to ask him about Antilia’s location.
"It was around 1pm that the Mumbai police control room received a call from a taxi driver, who informed about two suspicious men asking him the location of Antilia," a senior police official was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
Both men asking for the address had a large bag in their hand. Security officials are recording the driver’s statement in detail and examining CCTV footages to trace the men.
Police said a DCP-level rank officer is monitoring the situation.
Security had been intensified around Ambani’s house in February after an explosive-laden vehicle was found on the premises. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested several people, including dismissed API Sachin Waze, in connection with the incident.
