Not against any religion, says expelled BJP leader Naveen Jindal; claims he is facing death threats

Says he respects all religions

Naveen-Jindal

BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal, who was expelled from the party over the controversy surrounding the statements made against prophet Muhammad, claimed on Sunday that he is facing death threats.

Taking to Twitter, Jindal made a request not to make his address public as there have been death threats issued against him and his family on social media. He asked the Delhi Police and governor to take note of this.

In another tweet, he said he is not against any religion. Jindal said he respects all religions and his statements were only against those who use indecent language against Hindu gods and goddesses.

Jindal told news agency PTI that he had tweeted asking a question to those attacking and insulting Hindu deities and it was not aimed at hurting the religious sentiments of any community.

The BJP too issued a statement aimed at assuaging the concerns of minorities and distancing itself from these members, asserting that it respects all religions and strongly denounces the insult of any religious personality.
