'When anyone misunderstands good fortune...': Raj Thackeray takes a dig at cousin Uddhav

This was the MNS chief's first reaction after Uddhav's resignation

Amid the political tussle in Maharashtra that led to the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray as chief minister, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, on Thursday, took a veiled dig at his cousin.

In a cryptic tweet in English, Hindi and Marathi, the MNS chief wrote: "When anyone misunderstands good fortune as one's personal accomplishment, therein begins the journey towards one's decline."

He seems to be referring to Uddhav becoming the chief minister by forming an alliance with unlikely partners the Congress and the NCP.

Uddhav took the decision to step down as chief minister after the Supreme Court refused to stay the Maharashtra governor's direction to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by the Sena chief to take a floor test in the assembly on Thursday.

"I don't want to get into the numbers' game. It would be shameful for me to see if even one of my own party colleagues stands against me," he said while announcing his resignation.
