BJP won the Gola Gokarannath seat while it leads in Adampur and Dhamnagar

The RJD has won the Mokama constituency in Bihar after its candidate Neelam Devi defeated BJP's Sonam Devi by 16,577 votes. The seat fell vacant after the sitting MLA, Neelam's husband Anant Singh, was disqualified following an arms case. This was also the first time that BJP has fielded a candidate for the seat as every other time it had offered the seat to an ally.

The BJP too retained the Gola Gokarannath assembly seat after its candidate Aman Giri defeated his nearest rival and Samajwadi Party candidate by over 34,000 votes.

Neelam Devi had a steady lead from the start and had a lead of over 16,000 votes after 20 rounds. Mokama has been the stronghold of Anant Singh since 2005. He fought as an RJD candidate in the 2020 elections and retained the seat.

"My victory was certain. I had already said there's nobody else in my contest. It was just a formality. Mokama is the land of Parshuram, people won't get lured. Vidhayak ji(Anant Singh) served people. They're giving the result now," Neelam Devi told media persons after the results were announced.

However, despite an early lead, the BJP witnessed a neck-to-neck fight in the Gopalganj constituency in Bihar. After leading by 1,700 votes at the end of the 18th round of counting, BJP's Kusum Devi saw her lead shrink to BJP's lead shrinks to just 59 votes after Round 19.

This is the first electoral face-off between the ruling Grand Alliance (GA) and the opposition BJP in Bihar after the change of government in August this year, when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party JD-U snapped ties with the saffron party and aligned with Lalu Prasad's RJD-led coalition, comprising Congress and other parties, to form a new government.

Meanwhile, the BJP seemed to be breezing towards victory in Adampur in Haryana and Dhamnagar in Odisha. With BJP's Bhavya Bishnoi registering a lead of over 13,000 votes over the Congress candidate by six rounds in Adamput, the party workers began their celebrations.

BJP's Dhamnagar candidate Suraj Suryabanshi too was leading ahead by 4,392 votes after the sixth round. Suraj secured 18,181 votes in the first four rounds of counting, while BJD candidate Abanti Das bagged 14,920. Congress nominee Baba Harekrushna Sethi got 557 votes.

However, Telangana seems to be witnessing a tight fight between the ruling TRS and the BJP. The TRS candidate  Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy registered a minor lead over the nearest rival BJP's Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy. Meanwhile, the TRS had levelled allegations against the slow pace of counting.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction is set for a win in Mumbai's Andheri East seat. Rutuja Latke, the candidate of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), was on course for a comfortable win in the bypoll to Andheri (East) Assembly seat in Mumbai by bagging more than 37,000 votes out of the 49,616 votes counted so far on Sunday, followed by 7,556 votes polled in favour of the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
