A day after AAP leader Sandeep Bhardwaj died by suicide at his residence, BJP has alleged that he was murdered. Bhardwaj was found dead at his residence in Delhi on Thursday, according to the police. BJP alleged that AAP was responsible for his death as he was denied a ticket to contest in the upcoming MCD polls.

During a press conference, BJP leader Manoj Tewari on Friday alleged that Bhardwaj did not die by suicide. "I believe it is not suicide but murder. Sandeep Bhardwaj was assured ticket. Evidence does not make it look like suicide. It's also coming to the knowledge that a ticket for that seat was sold. Abetting suicide is also like murder," said Tiwari.

Meanwhile, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia while talking to the media said that it was wrong to connect his death with a ticket.

"This is very sad. Sandeep was close to me too. He used to play a very important role in the trade wing. You cannot connect his death with a ticket, it's wrong," said Sisodia.

Bhardwaj, 55, was secretary of AAP trade wing, Delhi and owner of Bhardwaj Marbles. He was a divorcee and is survived by a 20-year-old son and two sisters.

According to reports, the Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta said that the deceased AAP leader was seeking a ticket in the ongoing MCD elections.

Meanwhile, the police said that inquest proceedings are going on.
