With the Congress leading in the Himachal Pradesh election as per the latest trends, there have been reports of shifting Congress MLAs out of Himachal Pradesh to other states to prevent poaching by the rival parties.

On being asked about shifting party MLAs out of Himachal Pradesh, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh told reporters that we will do everything to protect democracy as BJP can do anything.

Vikramaditya also said that "we will form a government with a full majority and our government will run for five years. She (Pratibha Virbhadra Singh) is one of the contenders for the CM post."

According to reports, Congress leaders Deepender Singh Hooda, Bhupesh Baghel, and In charge, Rajiv Shukla will go to Himachal.

This is not the first time MLAs have been moved out of Himachal. Earlier in 1998, BJP shifted its MLAs to Haryana.

Also, in other states, MLA poaching incidents have occurred. Bihar Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar had alleged that his six JD(U) MLAs in Manipur have joined BJP through poaching. Also, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao alleged BJP of poaching his MLAs to topple the government.

Meanwhile, Opposition Congress has taken a lead on 38 seats while the ruling BJP won one seat and was ahead on 26 in Himachal Pradesh where the counting of votes was in progress on Thursday.

Independent candidates were ahead on three assembly seats, according to the Election Commission.
