It will be a VVIP weekend in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) – a premier military brainstorming session – in Bhopal on April 1.

The PM will address the commanders-in-chief of the three defence forces in India on the final day of the three-day CCC that commenced on March 30. During his over 6.30 hours stay in Bhopal, the prime minister will hold a brief road show and also flag-off the first Vande Bharat express of the state from Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Bhopal.

This is PM Modi’s fourth visit to the poll-bound state in the past six months. He had visited Sheopur to release Cheetahs in Kuno National Park in September, Ujjain to inaugurate Mahakal Lok in October and Indore to inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in January. Also, Home Minister Amit Shah has visited the state repeatedly during the past few months, the latest being a poll meeting in Chhindwara just five days ago (March 25).

Strong security measures will be in place for the visit. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took stock of the arrangements and preparation at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station and at 6 number stop, Shivaji Nagar where citizens and social workers are expected to felicitate the PM during his brief road show. The roadshow will be from the Kushabhau Thakre Hall to the railway station and will be completed in just 10 minutes. The PM will arrive in Bhopal at 9.25 am and leave at 4.10 pm, according to the official schedule.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh reached Bhopal on Thursday evening and will be attending the CCC on the next two days. CM Chouhan and his cabinet colleagues welcomed the Union minister on his arrival in Bhopal.

Before leaving for Bhopal, Singh tweeted “Today, I shall be reaching Bhopal to attend the ‘Combined Commanders’ Conference-2023’. The three-day conference of the Military Commanders will be held from 30th March to 1st April 2023 on the theme ‘Ready, Resurgent, Relevant’. Look forward to it.”
