A woman jumped off a moving Rapido bike taxi in Bengaluru after the driver allegedly tried to grope her, reports said. The accused has been arrested.
The incident took place on April 21 when the woman booked a ride to Indiranagar on the Rapido App around 11 pm.
“The driver took her phone on the pretext of checking OTP and started riding in the wrong direction,” an official told ANI.
The woman told police that the driver also tried to grope her. She jumped off the moving vehicle to save herself near the Abrar BMS college in Yelahanka.
A purported video of the incident recorded in a CCTV camera on the road has emerged on social platforms.
The accused, identified as Deepak Rao, 27, from Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
