Delhi Court on Tuesday framed charges of murder and disappearance of evidence against accused Aftab Poonawala in the Shraddha Walker case.

Details on the Delhi court order is awaited.

Earlier on April 29, Additional Sessions Judge Vishal Pahuja had adjourned the order on framing of charges against Poonawala noting that the judge was on leave.

The application by the victim's father Vikas Walkar urging the judge that his daughter's remains be handed over to the family for the last rites required by tradition and culture was also adjourned till May 9.

Poonawala has been booked by the Delhi Police under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence).

On January 24, a 6,629-page charge sheet in the case was filed by the Delhi Police.

Walkar was allegedly strangled and murdered by Poonawala on May 18 last year, following which he cut her body into pieces and stored in a fridge for almost three weeks at his residence in South Delhi's Mehrauli. Later the body pieces was disposed in different locations in Delhi to mislead the Police and get away with the murder.
