BJP MP from North-West Delhi Hans Raj Hans, on Monday, claimed that youth often get caught up in emotions, while talking about the gruesome murder of a minor girl in Delhi.

The 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death allegedly by her boyfriend on Sunday evening. The accused has been arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

The BJP MP observed that there has been an increase in crimes among youngsters, and said such an incident should not have happened.

"This is an unfortunate incident. Earlier there have been some cases in my constituency. I am in touch with the police and the family members of the victim. Youth often get caught up in emotions," Hans said.

Meanwhile, the mother of the victim said they never met the accused, Sahil.

The police called the murder a "crime of passion."

"As per the information as of now, they knew each other and there was some quarrel or they parted ways. The accused had a grudge and he did this kind of gruesome murder. It's a crime of passion. Further probe is being done," Delhi Police Special CP Dependra Pathak said, reports news agency ANI.
