Seeking support to oppose the Delhi ordinance, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet with Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren on Friday.

Kejriwal has been seeking Opposition unity in their fight against the ordinance over control of administrative services in the national capital.

Kejriwal along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had arrived in Ranchi on a special flight on Thursday night.

Earlier, while speaking to the media Soren had said that he will be the one to oppose the Opposition unity if all parties join together. The Opposition unity meet is scheduled to be held in Bihar on June 12. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will chair the meeting.

On Thursday, Kejriwal met Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin who extended his support to the party. Stalin also criticised the Centre for creating issues in non-BJP ruled states.

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have so far extended their support to the AAP.

Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, as well as his deputy Tejaswi Yadav, have also supported Kejriwal in the matter.

Centre promulgated the ordinance to create an authority for transfer and posting of Group-A officers in Delhi. On May 11, the Supreme Court verdict had granted control of services to the state government. Excluding police, public order and land, the SC had handed over control of services in Delhi to AAP-led government.

The Centre will have to bring a bill in Parliament to replace the ordinance within six months of its promulgation.

Before the SC verdict, the transfer and postings of all bureaucrats of the Delhi government was under the executive control of the lieutenant governor.
