Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated various infrastructure projects and laid foundation stone worth Rs 6,100 crore in Warangal, Telangana.

While addressing the people, Modi said that people of Telangana have a huge role in making India the 5th largest economy in the world.

“The strength of the people of Telangana has always increased the strength of India...Today when India has become the 5th largest economy in the world, the people of Telangana have a huge role in this...there is a lot of excitement for doing investments in India, across the world,” said Modi.

“Today's new India is young India, its full of energy...we have a golden period in the 21st century's third decade, we have to make full use of it & ensure that no corner of the country is behind in terms of development,” he added.

While taking a swipe at the K. Chandrashekar Rao led government in Telangana, Modi said that it is the “most corrupt” government.

“The present government in Telangana has done four things, abusing PM Modi & BJP government, they made one family the centre for power, they pushed Telangana's economic development into turmoil... duping Telangana into corruption...there's no project in Telangana that doesn't have allegations of corruption...KCR government is the most corrupt government” Modi was quoted by ANI.

Today the whole world is coming forward to invest in India, Telangana has many opportunities, said Modi.

Telangana is turning into a hub connecting all neighbouring economic corridors, he said.

“Manufacturing sector is becoming another big medium of employment for youth in the country...we started the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) scheme to boost manufacturing, with regard to this over 50 projects have been started in Telangana...India is making records in Defence exports,” Modi was quoted by ANI.

India's defence export was less than Rs 1000 crores 9 years back, and today it has crossed Rs 16,000 crores, he added.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Tourism Minister and newly-appointed president of BJP in Telangana G Kishan Reddy, BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other leaders were present on the occasion.

PM has given highest priority to infrastructure development in the country, said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Rs 1.10 lakh crore worth of infrastructure projects so far either completed or ongoing or started in Telangana, he added.

“I am confident that by the end of 2024, Telangana will have projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore in the state,” said Gadkari.

The foundation stone was laid for a railway wagon manufacturing unit to be developed at a cost of over Rs 500 crore.

Earlier, Modi offered prayers at the famous Goddess Bhadrakali temple in historic Warangal, the capital of Kakatiya kingdom.
