Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, on Sunday, came down heavily on Shinde camp MLA Sanjay Shirsat who claimed that she was sent to the Rajya Sabha by Aaditya Thackeray because of her beauty.

Shirsat had said it was another Maharashtra politician, Chandrakant Khaire, who belongs to the Uddhav Thackeray faction, who told him this. According to media reports, Shirsat's remarks came after Chaturvedi called the Shinde faction of MLAs "traitors." Shirsat had also said Chaturvedi has no right to call anyone "traitor" as she had deserted the Congress to join the Shiv Sena.

Taking to Twitter, Chaturvedi called Shirsat a "traitor" who sold his "soul and integrity".

"I don't need a traitor to tell me what I look like and why I'm where I am, who sold his soul and integrity for 50 boxes," she said in a tweet in Marathi.

"Sanjay Shirsat is a perfect example of the widespread sickness in his views on politics and women, he definitely displays his own vulgar character through his comments, no wonder the BJP has kept him with them," she wrote.
