The poll bugle has been blown in Madhya Pradesh, with Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chalking out strategies to woo the voters. While talking to the media former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday said that if voted to power, the Congress party will not ban Bajrang Dal.
However, Singh also added that "goons" and "rioters" will not be spared.
Bajrang Dal is a group of goons and anti-social elements but this country belongs to all, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christians, and this is a country for everyone, he said.
"We will not ban. There may be some good people in Bajrang Dal. But, those who are goons and involved in rioting will not be spared," he was quoted by the Indian Express.
He was interacting with the media persons at Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office in Bhopal.
Singh also alleged there has been misrule by the BJP, there has been corruption everywhere. Corruption is everywhere in jobs, and even in religious works, he alleged.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann will address a rally at Rewa on Sunday and are expected to announce the AAP’s "guarantees" to voters ahead of the year-end assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.
According to Pankaj Singh, AAP plans to contest all the 230 assembly seats in MP. The AAP is carrying out the process of selecting candidates for the upcoming polls and their names will be announced once the list is finalised, he said.
Also BJP's central election committee (CEC) reviewed the party's poll preparations in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh with particular seats where it is vulnerable.
CEC members including party president J P Nadda, and Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah were among those present at the meeting.
