The BJP chief J.P. Nadda has assured all help to the flood-hit Himachal Pradesh to rebuild its infrastructure. Nadda also met Congress Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and said, “Please let us know your problems, and we will carry out all works."

Nadda said Himachal Pradesh has got Rs 622 crore under the SDRF fund, while Rs 2,700 crore has been given under the PM Rural Roads scheme.

“The Narendra Modi government is committed to give all help in the rebuilding of the National Highways along with the state highways. A total of 20 teams of the SDRF, 15 teams of the NDRF, two teams of the ITBP and three helicopters of the Indian Air Force are working round the clock in relief and rescue operations. Thousands of people have been rescued and shifted to safer places,” Nadda said.

Nadda along with Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur had visited the state to take stock of the situation. Both of them belong to the hilly state.

Sukhu had earlier said that all the rural roads have been wiped out while majority of state highways have been badly impacted by the unprecedented heavy rains and flood. He had said the state had suffered losses to the tune of Rs 8,000 crore.

Nadda during his tour acknowledged that Himachal Pradesh was facing severe natural calamities and going through massive disaster. “People have suffered a lot due to natural calamities. There has been widespread damage due to natural disaster, several houses have been damaged and there has been widespread landslides. I am deeply disturbed and saddened by this wide-scale disaster, and loss of lives and property.”

He said PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had spoken to the state CM and assured help. He announced that all BJP MPs will give all their money from their MP fund for the relief and rebuilding process of affected areas of Himachal Pradesh.

“The Narendra Modi Government is fully committed to give all possible help to Himachal Pradesh and bring people out of devastation and distress.”

“A state disaster team from Himachal Pradesh had gone to the Union government with a report and the Himachal Pradesh administration has also given various suggestions. We are working on all these aspects,” the party chief said.

Nadda added that there should be no politics during this time of distress and devastation. “The Union government will help and assist in all works related to road construction, rehabilitation, rebuilding of houses and other reconstruction work to restore normalcy in Himachal Pradesh,” Nadda said.

“In this moment of distress and natural calamity, the Narendra Modi Government and all the Bharatiya Janata Party workers from across the country are with the people of Himachal Pradesh,” he said.
