Hailing the ISRO on the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he salutes the scientists and everybody involved in the Moon mission for their hard work and passion.
"I salute the efforts by scientists at ISRO. They have made us proud as a nation," he said, addressing the scientists gathered at the space agency headquarters in Bengaluru.
“The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission is an extraordinary moment in the history of India’s space programme,” PM Modi said, and added that people from across the globe who believe in science and the future are filled with enthusiasm over India’s achievement.
PM Modi flew directly down to Bengaluru early on Saturday, after concluding his two-nation visit to South Africa and Greece, to congratulate and meet the ISRO scientists involved in the Chandrayaan-3 mission to the Moon.
“I was in Greece and then in South Africa, but my thoughts were with you (scientists),” he said.
Modi visited the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), where he was received by ISRO chairman S. Somanath and was briefed about Chandrayaan-3's progress.
PM Modi said that he remembers each and every second of August 23 when the Vikram Lander of Chandrayaan-3 mission successfully touched down on the Moon's surface. "Every Indian felt that the victory is theirs. They felt they passed an exam."
Before heading for ISTRAC in Bengaluru, Modi addressed a gathering outside the HAL Airport and raised the slogan ‘Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan’.
