A man has been found dead under suspicious circumstances at the house of Union Minister Kaushal Kishore in Lucknow. The deceased, identified as Vinay Srivastava, was the friend of the minister's son Vikas Kishore.
The gun was licenced and belonged to Vikas, said reports. The incident happened around 4.15 am at Kishore's house in Begaria village under the Thakurganj police station area.
Police have taken into custody four people in connection with the matter and the forensic team is on the spot. DCP West, Lucknow, Rahul Raj said the dog squad, crime branch and forensic teams are at the spot for investigation. "A person named Vinay Shrivastave was shot dead. A pistol has been recovered which belongs to Vikas Kishore. Further investigation is underway. A forensic team has also arrived and we are also searching CCTV visuals. An FIR has also been registered in this case," Rahul Raj told reporters.
The minister has expressed shock and concern over the incident and has promised all help for the investigation. "This is a matter of investigation. Forensic teams and police have started the investigation. The person involved will not be spared. We are standing in support of the family members of the deceased. I have no idea who was at the residence when the incident took place," he said.
However, local media reports said the deceased and the four men in custody had shared meals and drinks before the incident. However, an altercation erupted between them resulting in the shooting.
