Rahul Gandhi will be in EU during G20 summit, to meet MPs, students and diaspora

The EU tour coincides with the first anniversary of the launch of Bharat Jodo Yatra

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be on a six-day, five-nation tour of Europe starting Thursday. The trip will include meetings with parliamentarians, interactions with university students and two press conferences.

According to party sources, Gandhi will begin the Europe visit in Brussels on Thursday, where he is scheduled to meet European Union MPs and civil society organisations. On September 8, he will have a meeting over breakfast with industrialists. A press conference will be addressed by him in Brussels at 1:30pm IST.

Gandhi's next stop will be Paris, where he will arrive on September 8. He will address a press conference in the French capital that day, scheduled for 9pm IST. He will have dinner with members of the Indian community.

The following day, he will meet French parliamentarians. He will also interact with students at the Sciences Po University and the Einalco University.

On September 10, Gandhi will arrive in the Netherlands, where he will interact with students at the University of Leiden.

Gandhi will reach Norway on September 11. He is scheduled to make a speech at the University of Oslo that day. He will take part in a dinner meeting with members of the Indian community in Oslo. Gandhi will wrap up the tour and return on September 12.

The Europe tour has been organised by the Indian Overseas Congress.

The trip, however, comes at a time when the G20 will meet in India. It also coincides with the first anniversary of the launch of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
