A vehicle of the Bihar Education Department was vandalised by a group of protesting girl students of a government school in Mahnar of Bihar's Vaishali district on Tuesday.
The protest and act of vandalism by the girl students went viral on the internet after it was caught on camera. According to reports, the girls were protesting against the lack of facilities at their school and took out their anger on the parked vehicle.
Lack of seating arrangement was the primary concern of the protesting students who blocked a road in Vaishali before turning violent. "There are more student admissions than the capacity of school classrooms here. The students who did not find a place to sit inside started protesting and blocked a road. We are trying to run the school in two shifts. A probe is on," Vaishali SDO Neeraj Kumar was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
While some girls hit the car with sticks and clubs, several others hurled big rocks and even empty water cans at it.
