The National Investigation Agency conducted raids at 51 locations across six states as part of its crackdown on the Khalistani terrorists-gangsters-smuggler nexus, on Wednesday. The locations of the aides of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha and Arsh Dalla were raided.
"The NIA is conducting raids at 51 locations across 6 states in 3 cases related to associates of Lawrence, Bambiha and Arsh Dalla gangs," an official of the National Investigative Agency (NIA) said.
The raids are being conducted in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The house of a liquor contractor in Moga district of Punjab was raided after reports emerged that the contracted was paying ransom to gangster Arsh Dala. An associate of the Arsh Dalla gang has been detained during the raids, the official said.
The raids in Uttarakhand focused on a gun house in the Bajpur police station area of Udham Singh Nagar Dehradun district of Uttarakhand.
While Lawrence Bishnoi is in jail, gangster-turned-terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla is based in Canada and Davinder Bambiha was killed in an encounter with Punjab Police in 2016.
The NIA had released the details of 43 terrorists as part of its crackdown on terrorist-gangster nexus, some of them with Canada and Khalistan links. The agency also asked the public to share details of their properties and assets which can be taken over by the central government.
It has also asked to share details of their business partners, workers, employees and collection agents. The NIA in its post issued pictures of Lawrence Bishnoi, Jasdeep Singh, Kala Jatheri alias Sandeep, Virender Pratap alias Kala Rana and Joginder Singh along with their names.
Before that, the NIA had confiscated properties owned by designated Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in Chandigarh and Amritsar under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. A property confiscation notice was seen pasted outside Pannun's residence at Sector 15 in Chandigarh.
