Two persons have been arrested after a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four youths in Bihar’s Madhepura district, police said on Saturday.
Two accused are still on the run, they said.
All the four have been booked under Section 376D (gang rape) of the IPC, sections of the Pocso Act, and the SC/ST act in women police station of the district.
The incident took place on Friday when the victim was on her way to a nearby market. The accused, who came on motorbikes, intercepted her and took her to a desert place.
The accused took turn to rape her and after committing the crime fled the area, police said, adding that the victim somehow managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal to her parents.
"The victim approached Murliganj police station and registered a complaint. The case was immediately transferred to the women police station for the FIR and two of the accused arrested," SDPO, Madhepura Sadar, Pravendra Bharti was quoted as saying by IANS.
The accused were produced in a district court which sent them to judicial custody. Bharti said they are searching every possible locations to nab the remaining accused.
