Fresh violence that broke out in Tengnoupal district, Manipur claimed lives of 13 people on Monday. According to security officials, the gunfight broke between two militant groups during noon near Saibol in Tengnoupal district.

The officials are yet to reveal the identity of the recovered bodies. Reportedly, those deceased were not natives to the area. “The probe is still on,” said the official.

The security forces did not find any weapons in the area as well.

The Manipur government had restored internet services across the state, barring a few areas, on Sunday.

"Considering improvement in law and order and inconveniences faced by people due to the mobile internet ban, the state government has decided to relax the suspension," the notification said.

Meanwhile, areas including Chandel and Kakching, Kangpokpi and Imphal West, Churachandpur and Bishnupur and Tengnoupal and Kakching still face suspension of services till December 18.

Mobile internet services had been suspended in the state since May 3 following the outbreak of violence in the state.

The ethnic clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities had left over 180 dead in the state.

The lifting of the suspension came four days after the Centre and Manipur government signed a peace agreement in New Delhi with the United National Liberation Force.
