The headmistress of a government school in Karnataka was suspended after her photoshoot alongside a student during a school trip kicked up a row.
The "photo shoot" showed the teacher, 42, being lifted by a Class 10 boy. Other photos showed the student holding the pallu of the teacher's sari and kissing each other on the cheeks.
According to reports the teacher and student belonged to a government school in Murugamalla of Karnataka's Chikkaballapur. The controversy erupted after the photos went viral on the internet.
The boy's parents filed a complaint against the headmistress after they came across the photographs, Malayala Manorama said in a report. Sensing trouble, the teacher removed the original photos and videos from her mobile phone. The Education Department, which suspended the teacher, is in the process of retrieving the deleted files as part of an enquiry, the news report added.
It is said that the photos and videos were shot by another student who was part of the tour. The other teachers who were part of the excursion had no idea about the development, the report added.
