Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin rubbished rumours about his health on Saturday, saying, "I am healthy, cheerful, I am working, working, working." He slammed those who are spreading "false information" about his health.
He also dismissed speculations that his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, is being elevated as Deputy Chief Minister.
"After this lie was shattered, rumours were being spread with an intention to create sensation, that deputy CM post (for Udhayanidhi) was going to be given," PTI quoted Stalin as saying.
"Party workers should not allow diverting the focus of the Youth Wing Conference, which would be the cry for state rights. The intention of the conference would be to protect state rights and federalism. Those opposed to this are spreading rumours," he added.
DMK leader Udhayanidhi, who is currently the Sports Minister in the southern state, had on Thursday denied rumours about him becoming the CM's deputy. Locals TV channels had earlier reported that Udhyanidhi will take charge as deputy CM as Stalin is set to visit Spain later this month.
Interestingly, Stalin was deputy chief minister when his father M. Karunanidhi was the CM of Tamil Nadu.
