Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Kerala for a two-day visit, attended actor and former MP Suresh Gopi's daughter's wedding in Guruvayoor on Wednesday morning. The Prime Minister was also seen offering prayers at the famous Lord Krishna temple in Guruvayoor.
Clad in 'mundu' and 'veshti', the Prime Minister offered prayers at the temple amid tight security. He arrived in Kochi on Tuesday evening, after which he held a roadshow, attended by thousands.
On Wednesday morning, Modi arrived in Guruvayur at around 7.35 am by helicopter which landed at the Sree Krishna College ground. Hundreds of BJP supporters and workers gathered to welcome him at the helipad.
The Prime Minister then went to the Sreevalsam guest house where he changed into the traditional Kerala attire before going to the temple to offer prayers. The prime minister also performed a thulabharam at the temple.
He later attended the wedding of actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi's daughter. The Prime Minister, who blessed Suresh Gopi's daughter Bhagya Suresh and husband Sreyas, later left for Triprayar Sree Rama Swami Temple in Thrissur district. He will return to Kochi where he will be taking part in Central government and party programmes.
The wedding ceremony of the actor's daughter Bhagya Suresh took place at 8.45 am. Suresh Gopi is a prominent actor and former Rajya Sabha MP of the BJP. Prominent actors Mohanlal and Mammootty also attended the wedding.
